Gloversville, like much of small town America, has undergone sweeping changes in recent years, but the city and its citizens are in the midst of a revival. Community leaders are working together to provide needed resources and opportunities for people of all backgrounds to develop and sustain healthy lifestyles.
In response to the needs of our youth, several agencies and organizations have come together to collaborate and educate residents on ways to prevent youth substance use and offer treatment and recovery services to those who have substance use disorders.
The Glove City Coalition is a group of powerful organizations working together to guide and support the next generation to reduce and prevent youth substance use.
As a CDC Drug-Free-Communities Support Program, we are committed to mobilizing youth and adults alike to identify ways to reduce substance use in our community and change the local culture and environment to protect our youth from its harms as well as provide opportunities for pro-social activities.
To do this, The Coalition works to establish and strengthen collaboration among non-profit agencies, Federal, state, and local governments, and caring residents to carry out the mission of preventing underage use of alcohol, tobacco/e-cigarettes, marijuana, and other drugs by addressing the factors that increase the risk of use.
